Star brite Rust Eater & Converter in the 22 oz spray bottle, under SKU 113141 and MPN 92322. A 22 oz treatment for a defined painted or unpainted metal-finishing job. This purchase supplies one 22 oz spray bottle. Select the product by the actual cleaning, protection or surface-preparation task before comparing container size or tool format.
Rust Eater & Converter is a chemical treatment for suitable metal affected by rust and oxidation. Manufacturer guidance distinguishes a paint-preparation application from an unpainted treatment followed by rinsing and protective oil. That choice matters before work begins: a retained oily inhibitor, a rust-treatment chemical and an abrasive cleaning tool are not interchangeable finishing systems. Inspect the underlying metal before treating it because surface conversion does not replace metal lost to corrosion.
The 22 oz spray bottle gives you a dedicated chemical-treatment format rather than an oily preventive coating. Decide before application whether painting is planned. Manufacturer guidance gives a two-hour thorough-drying reference for the painting route and a separate short treatment, rinse, dry and protective-oil sequence for unpainted metal. The correct finishing path belongs with this exact formula.
For metal and coating systems permitted by the exact label. Confirm the substrate, neighboring materials and planned paint system before application; no structural restoration or conversion into new steel is claimed. Inspect the area during maintenance and choose any further cleaning, coating or repair from its actual condition. No package size or promotional product name replaces the exact label and equipment requirements.

MARINE CARE GUIDE
Use these six checks to match code 92322, equipment and application before starting your metal rust eater and converter spray task. Keep the delivered directions available.
Check the extent of corrosion and whether repair or replacement is necessary before surface treatment.
Decide whether the surface will be painted or left unpainted. The finishing steps are different.
Remove oil, grease, loose rust and flaking paint using suitable preparation methods.
Follow the exact label for coating the metal. Manufacturer guidance describes best results above 70°F (21°C).
For painting, follow the two-hour drying guidance and paint requirements. For unpainted work, follow the separate short treatment, rinse, dry and protective-oil route.
Check surface readiness before the next coating or service. A chemical treatment does not restore lost structural thickness.
Compare rust treatment with a preventive protective barrier. Chemical rust preparation and a retained inhibitor film serve different finishing steps; choose the next coating before beginning. Review the related store option.
A spot-cleaning pen may suit approved small recesses but leaves no chemical converter or protective film. Consider abrasion and plating before substituting mechanical cleaning. Review the second comparison option.

Wire-brushed the loose scale off the trailer frame, then sprayed this on a warm afternoon. The rust went flat black in a couple of minutes and was dry enough to paint that evening. Two hours later an oil-based enamel stuck with no bleed-through. The 22 oz bottle arrived in two days and covered more frame than I expected.
Used it on rusted engine brackets and a couple of hose-clamp bands. Degreased first, knocked off the flakes, and gave it a wet coat. It converted the orange to a stable black without chewing into the sound metal. Shipping beat the estimate, and the price is fair versus buying a brush-on converter and a separate primer.
Cleats and the anchor shank had surface rust after a salty season. Sprayed above 70 degrees and the metal went dark and dull instead of bright orange. On the spots I was not painting, I rinsed after a minute or two, dried, and oiled, just like the label. It held. Bottle arrived sealed and fast.
Light rust converts well, but thick scale on the trailer tongue still needed a wire brush and a second coat. After that the black film was solid and took paint fine. Flush the sprayer with water or it starts to spit the next time. The order was here in a couple of days, and the price is fair once you know it is not a one-wipe fix.
Brought the can into the garage so it was warm, then hit rusted rail fittings and a couple of dock tools. The surface went black and stopped dusting orange on my hands. I waited the full two hours before an epoxy topcoat and had no bleed-through. Fast shipping, and 22 oz is enough for a season of touch-ups.
The transom bracket had bloomed after a salty fall. Degreased, brushed the loose rust, and sprayed a full coat. It turned the rust into a paintable black base instead of just covering it up. I painted the next morning and it has stayed put. Mariners Warehouse had it here before the weekend. Easy if you follow the steps.
I keep this for trailer hardware and the winch stand. One coat after a light brush stops the flash rust, and I can paint the same day if I wait two hours. It does not eat through good steel the way a straight acid did years ago. Showed up fast, and the price per ounce beats the small cans at the hardware store.
Did it the slow way: no grease, wire brush, then spray while it was warm. Rust on the bow rail feet went black and stayed that way through a month of weekends. On one unpainted spot I skipped the rinse-and-oil step and a little haze came back, so follow the label. Shipping was quick and the can arrived intact.
