Longer Stop-and-Start Recreation

The Skipper provides up to 90 minutes with normal use, where the motor is activated intermittently during a water session. The official manual separately lists up to 30 minutes of continuous operation, helping buyers set an accurate expectation for different operating patterns.

Deliberate Dual-Trigger Control

Both handle triggers must be held to start the propeller. Releasing either trigger stops propulsion, while a separate safety lock helps prevent unintended activation when the seascooter is not being operated.

Designed for Supervised Shallow Water

With a product depth rating of 15 ft (5 m), the Skipper is intended for swimming and snorkeling in a pool or calm water close to shore. The rating describes the unit’s limit; users must follow their own water competence and depth limitations.

Removable 12V Battery System

The removable 12V 7.5Ah sealed lead-acid battery can be taken out for charging and storage. It recharges in approximately 7–8 hours when fully discharged and must be stored separately in a ventilated area when the seascooter is not in use.

Nautica Skipper Use, Care, Battery and Safety Information

Before First Use

Read the complete official manual. Fit the supplied rubber seal before first use. The seal and sealing surfaces must be clean, undamaged and fully lubricated with the supplied silicone grease whenever the nose cone is installed.

Charging and Battery Care

• Battery handling and charging must be performed by an adult.
• Remove the battery from the dry seascooter before charging.
• Charge in a dry, well-ventilated area away from children, water, flames, sparks and other ignition sources.
• Use only the supplied charger and the correct original battery.
• Connect the charger to the battery before connecting the charger to mains power.
• A red light indicates charging; green indicates a full charge.
• Disconnect mains power before disconnecting the battery.
• Allow the battery to stand for at least 30 minutes after charging before installing it.
• Recharge within 24 hours after use and at least once every three months during storage.
• Do not charge, use or store the battery above 104°F (40°C).
• Never store the battery inside the seascooter.

Freshwater and Saltwater Care

Remove the unit from the water immediately after use. Rinse the complete seascooter with fresh water and allow it to dry before storage. Use only a damp cloth for cleaning—do not use detergent. Keep the battery-housing interior dry.

Seals, O-Rings and Buoyancy

Keep sand and grit away from the seal and sealing surfaces. The Skipper is designed for buoyancy in seawater, but freshwater, lakes, pools, currents, temperature and other conditions can reduce buoyancy. The unit may sink if released, so never let go of or leave it in the water.

Storage

Remove and separately store the battery in a cool, dry, ventilated location away from children, heat, ignition sources and metal objects. For extended storage, remove the nose cone. Store the seascooter vertically to help prevent deformation of the propeller nozzle.

Age and Supervision

The Skipper is for ages 8+ and one-person use. Adult supervision is required. A child must remain within their own depth and wear an approved personal flotation device. This seascooter is not a lifesaving device or buoyancy aid.

Operating Limits

Use only in a pool or calm water close to shore. Do not use in the open sea, in reverse, out of the water or while damaged. Tie back long hair, avoid loose clothing, inspect the operating area and never attach the unit to the user’s body or clothing.

Air Travel with the Battery

The sealed lead-acid battery calculates to 90Wh: 12V × 7.5Ah = 90Wh. FAA guidance lists conditions for non-spillable wet batteries at or below 12V and 100Wh, including protection against damage and short circuit, strong packaging and required “non-spillable” markings. Confirm the physical battery markings, packing requirements and acceptance directly with the airline before travel. This battery must not be described as “airline approved.”
