The Nautica Navigator Seascooter is a single-speed recreational underwater scooter designed for users ages 8 and older with adult supervision. It is intended for supervised pool play, swimming and snorkeling in a pool or calm water close to shore. The official manual specifically states that it must not be used in the open sea.

The Navigator reaches speeds of up to 2.5 mph (4 km/h) and carries a 30 ft (10 m) product depth rating. Its removable 12 V 7.5 Ah sealed lead-acid battery provides up to 60 minutes of normal use or up to 30 minutes of continuous operation. A fully discharged battery normally requires 7–8 hours to recharge.

A safety lock, dual-trigger operation and protective front and rear grilles support controlled operation. Both triggers must be held for propulsion; releasing either trigger stops the propeller. The built-in camera mount can accept a compatible action camera, but the camera and mounting thumbscrew are not included.

Choose the Navigator when supervised users need more speed and a higher product depth rating than the Skipper. Always follow the official manual, use an approved personal flotation device and remain within the user’s swimming ability and water depth.

Up to 2.5 mph with a 30 ft product rating

The Navigator’s single-speed propulsion reaches up to 2.5 mph (4 km/h) and the product carries a 30 ft (10 m) depth rating. These specifications make it the faster, higher-rated option when compared with the Skipper, while all use must remain within the operator’s ability and manual limits.

Clear normal and continuous runtime

The removable lead-acid battery provides up to 60 minutes with normal stop-and-start use. The manual separately specifies up to 30 minutes of continuous use, giving buyers a more accurate basis for planning supervised pool or calm-water sessions.

Dual-trigger operation

Both handle triggers must be held to operate the propeller. Releasing either trigger stops propulsion, while the separate safety lock helps prevent operation when the unit is out of use. Front and rear grilles limit direct access to the propeller area.

Removable NZS06-compatible battery

The 12 V 7.5 Ah sealed lead-acid battery can be removed for charging and storage. Nautica identifies the NZS06 as the original compatible replacement battery for both Navigator and Skipper models, allowing a discharged battery to be replaced with a charged compatible unit.

Integrated action-camera mount

A camera mount is integrated into the Navigator’s body, allowing a compatible action camera to be attached for recording. The camera and mounting thumbscrew are not included, so customers should confirm their camera interface and required mounting hardware separately.

Manageable recreational format

With its battery installed, the Navigator weighs 11.4 lb (5.2 kg) and measures 11.77 × 11.10 × 20.5 inches. Its two-handle format provides a clear grip position, but an adult remains responsible for supervision, battery handling and charging.

Navigator Seascooter Use, Care, Battery and Safety Information

Before First Use

Charging and Battery Care

  • Battery charging must be performed by an adult.
  • Switch the safety lock off and ensure the unit is out of the water and completely dry.
  • Open the nose cone and allow at least two minutes for accumulated gas to dissipate before disconnecting the battery.
  • Remove the battery and charge it on a level surface in a ventilated area, away from water, children, flames, heat and ignition sources.
  • Connect the charger to the battery before connecting the charger to mains power.
  • Charging a fully discharged battery takes approximately 7–8 hours. The charger displays red while charging and green when complete.
  • Disconnect mains power first, then disconnect the battery.
  • Allow the charged battery to stand for at least 30 minutes before installing it.
  • Charge within 24 hours after use and every three months during extended storage.
  • Do not charge, use or store the battery above 104°F/40°C.
  • Use only the specified original battery and supplied charger.

Freshwater and Saltwater Care

  • Remove the battery immediately after use.
  • Rinse the seascooter with fresh water and allow it to dry completely.
  • Do not use detergents; clean with a damp cloth.
  • Keep the interior of the battery housing dry.

Seals, O-Rings and Buoyancy

  • Clean and lubricate the seal every time the nose cone is installed.
  • The unit is designed for seawater and may be less buoyant or may sink in freshwater, lakes or pools.
  • Never release or leave the unit in the water.

Storage

  • Never store the battery inside the seascooter.
  • Store the battery separately in a ventilated area away from children, heat, flames and metal objects.
  • Store the seascooter vertically.
  • Remove the nose cone during extended storage.

Age and Supervision

  • Designed for ages 8 and older with adult supervision.
  • Use only where the child remains within their depth.
  • An approved personal flotation device is required.
  • Tie back long hair or use a swim cap, and keep loose clothing away from the propeller.
  • Only one person may use the unit at a time.

Operating Limits

  • Use only in a pool or calm water close to shore.
  • Do not use in the open sea.
  • Do not exceed the 30 ft/10 m product depth rating.
  • Do not use the unit as a flotation or lifesaving device.

  • Operate only in water and only when fully assembled.

Air Travel with the Battery

The battery is a removable 12 V 7.5 Ah sealed lead-acid battery with a calculated capacity of 90 Wh:

12 V × 7.5 Ah = 90 Wh

FAA provisions for qualifying wet nonspillable batteries require no more than 12 V and 100 Wh, strong packaging for spare batteries, terminal protection, accidental-activation protection, and “nonspillable” markings on the battery and outer package. Confirm that the supplied battery has the required markings and obtain acceptance from the airline before travel. The 90 Wh calculation is not airline approval.

Read the full manual before performing any charging, maintenance or troubleshooting procedure.

Is the Nautica Navigator Seascooter Right for Supervised Pool and Snorkeling Use?

The Nautica Navigator Seascooter is intended for buyers who want a recreational underwater scooter for supervised swimming, pool play or snorkeling in calm water close to shore. It is designed for ages 8 and older, but the age designation does not replace adult supervision, swimming ability, an approved personal flotation device or the operating instructions.

Its main purchasing advantage is its balance of recreational performance and simple controls. The single-speed motor reaches up to 2.5 mph, while the product carries a 30 ft depth rating. The removable lead-acid battery provides up to 60 minutes of normal stop-and-start use, although continuous operation is limited to approximately 30 minutes and a full recharge takes 7–8 hours.

Choose the Navigator when the user would benefit from more speed and a higher product rating than the Skipper. Compare another model when longer normal-use runtime, lighter weight, faster charging or a different battery chemistry is more important. The Navigator must not be used in the open sea, and its buoyancy can decrease enough for it to sink in freshwater, a lake or a pool.

Why Choose This Seascooter?

Why Choose the Nautica Navigator Seascooter?

The Navigator is designed for families comparing a recreational handheld seascooter for supervised pool play, swimming and snorkeling. It offers higher published speed and depth capability than Nautica’s Skipper while retaining one-speed controls and an integrated camera mount.

  • Higher recreational performance: Reaches up to 2.5 mph (4 km/h) with a 30 ft (10 m) product depth rating.
  • Accurate runtime guidance: Provides up to 60 minutes of normal use or up to 30 minutes of continuous operation.
  • Removable battery: The 12 V 7.5 Ah lead-acid battery can be removed for charging, storage or replacement.
  • Straightforward controls: Both triggers must be held for propulsion, and releasing either trigger stops the propeller.
  • Camera capability: An integrated mount supports a compatible action camera without requiring the user to hold the camera separately.
  • Documented package: Battery, charger, O-ring seal, silicone grease and manual are included.

Choose the Navigator when speed and a higher product depth rating matter more than the Skipper’s longer normal-use runtime. It is not intended for open-sea or professional diving use and is not a flotation or lifesaving device.
