The Nautica J-Class Seascooter is a foldable, dual-thruster underwater scooter developed for personal recreational swimming, snorkeling and qualified scuba-diving use. As Nautica’s Travel Series model, it combines a compact folding chassis with three selectable speed settings and propulsion speeds of up to 5 mph (8 km/h). Its equipment depth rating is 130 ft (40 m), although that rating is an operating limit rather than a recommended diving depth.
A removable 22.2V 6Ah lithium-ion battery provides up to 40 minutes of normal-use runtime or up to 30 minutes of continuous operation. Charging takes approximately three to four hours. The LCD displays battery level and the selected gear while also providing operating and warning indicators.
The J-Class measures 16.9 × 12.1 × 6.7 inches when folded and weighs 15 lb (6.8 kg) with its battery, making storage and transportation more manageable than with a fixed-frame unit. A camera mount and multipurpose mount are supplied, but the camera, camera housing and mounting hardware are not included. Choose this model when compact storage, higher speed and a replaceable battery matter more than maximum per-charge runtime.

The J-Class is powered by a removable 22.2V 6Ah lithium-ion battery rated at 133.2Wh. It provides up to 40 minutes of normal stop-and-start use or up to 30 minutes of continuous operation.
A full recharge takes approximately three to four hours using the specified charger. The battery can also be replaced with the compatible Nautica NZS21 J-Class battery.
The integrated LCD provides important operating information while the seascooter is in use. It displays the selected speed setting and remaining battery capacity, allowing the operator to monitor performance more easily.

The camera, waterproof camera housing, attachment buckle and thumb screw are not included and must be purchased separately when required.

After each use, the manual instructs owners to immerse the scooter in freshwater for approximately 20 minutes. While submerged, operate it at low speed for three seconds and repeat five times. Remove the battery, drain and dry the unit, and leave it in a cool, ventilated area until fully dry.
Keep the battery seals clean, dry and free of sand or grit. The J-Class is designed for seawater and may have less buoyancy or sink in freshwater, lakes and pools. Do not release it in the water or use it as a flotation aid.
The battery is rated at 22.2V × 6Ah = 133.2Wh. Current FAA guidance requires airline approval for lithium-ion batteries above 100Wh and no more than 160Wh. Removed or spare batteries must be carried in carry-on baggage with terminals protected from short circuits. Confirm the scooter, battery, quantity and packing method directly with the airline before every trip. It is not automatically airline approved.
The Nautica J-Class Seascooter is a strong match for an experienced swimmer or qualified diver aged 16 or older who wants a foldable underwater scooter with higher speed and straightforward three-level control. Its dual-thruster system reaches up to 5 mph, while its folded dimensions make storage aboard a boat, in a vehicle or with dive equipment more manageable.
Runtime is the most important limitation to understand. The J-Class provides up to 40 minutes under normal stop-and-start use, but the manual reduces that figure to up to 30 minutes when operated continuously. Buyers wanting longer operation from one charge should compare it with the heavier Nautica Navtech 1.
Although the J-Class belongs to Nautica’s Travel Series, its 22.2V 6Ah battery is rated at 133.2Wh. Under current US FAA guidance, batteries in the 101–160Wh range require airline approval, and individual carriers may impose stricter rules. Its folding design does not automatically make the scooter or battery airline approved.
Choose this model for its combination of 5 mph performance, compact folding construction, three speeds and replaceable battery—not as a flotation device, current-navigation aid or substitute for proper swimming and diving competence.

Been diving with the J-Class (NAE22750) for a couple months now and switching between the three speeds depending on the site has been genuinely useful, not just a marketing feature. The folding design means it actually fits in my dive bag without rearranging everything else. Runtime is what you'd expect for something this compact, plan your dive accordingly.
Having a replaceable battery on the J-Class (NAE22750) means I can carry a spare and not worry about being stuck mid-trip. The dual-thruster setup gives it noticeably more pull than the single-motor scooter I had before. Took a bit of reading to understand the airline battery approval process before my last trip, but once sorted it wasn't a big deal.
Was skeptical a foldable scooter could keep up with my old full-size one, but the J-Class (NAE22750) at top speed feels close enough that I don't mind the trade-off for how much easier it packs. Depth rating gives me plenty of room for the recreational and light dive work I do. Charging isn't instant but I just plan ahead.
As someone who dives a few times a year on trips, the folding chassis on the J-Class (NAE22750) has made packing so much easier than my previous scooter. Three-speed control is handy for adjusting to current conditions. Runtime during continuous use is shorter than the normal-use figure, worth keeping in mind when planning a dive.
Bought the J-Class (NAE22750) mainly for the camera mount to film some snorkeling trips, and it's held up well so far. The folded dimensions really do make a difference when trying to fit gear into a single travel bag. Battery life has matched what I expected based on the listed runtime figures, no surprises there.
