The OBR Mercury 225–250 HP TorqueMaster lower-unit family includes new and remanufactured replacement gearcases in 20-inch L and 25-inch XL shaft configurations. Current OBR listings identify the ME-G6-23 and ME-G6-24 SKU families for selected 2005–2013 TorqueMaster applications.
The 20-inch configuration is available as ME-G6-23-N new or ME-G6-23-R remanufactured. The 25-inch configuration is available as ME-G6-24-N new or ME-G6-24-R remanufactured. Each shaft family has its own published Mercury OEM cross-references.
Horsepower and model year alone cannot confirm fitment. Before ordering, match the complete engine serial number, original OEM or gearcase number, TorqueMaster family, shaft length, gear ratio and rotation. A 2013 application requires careful identification because OBR also lists TorqueMaster 2 products beginning in 2013.

This product must not be treated as interchangeable with TorqueMaster 2, SportMaster, FleetMaster, counter-rotation or later V8 Pro XS gearcases. A 2013 model requires physical and part-number verification because both TorqueMaster and TorqueMaster 2 catalog ranges include that year.
Do not assume that every 2004 engine is compatible. OBR’s current records begin at 2005. Written confirmation is required for any 2004 order.
The gearcase ships without oil. Fill it with the manufacturer-required gear lubricant, confirm proper idle speed and shift adjustment, and follow OBR’s break-in procedure before normal operation.
Before shipment, the selected gearcase should be reviewed against the engine serial number, original OEM number, TorqueMaster family, shaft length, ratio and rotation. If any submitted information conflicts with the selected SKU, shipment should be paused and the customer contacted.
When the package arrives, the customer should inspect the carton for punctures, crushing or water exposure before installation. Visible damage should be photographed immediately, and the carton, packing materials and tracking information retained while the carrier claim is reviewed.
