The Nautica Guppy Seascooter is a compact, single-speed water-propulsion device designed for family recreation in a pool or calm water close to shore. Intended for operators age 5 or older, it weighs only 3.5 lb / 1.6 kg with its integrated battery, making it the lightest handheld model in Nautica’s current Recreational Series.
The Guppy reaches speeds up to 1.2 mph / 1.9 km/h and provides up to 30 minutes of normal use or up to 20 minutes of continuous operation. Its integrated 7.3V 2.6Ah lithium-ion battery recharges through the unit’s charging port in approximately 2–3 hours. LED indicators show charging and operating status.
Both triggers must be pressed to operate the motor. Releasing either trigger stops the propeller, while a protective grille limits direct access to the rotor. The Guppy has no published depth rating and no camera mount. It should be selected for supervised pool swimming or calm-water recreation—not deep diving, open-sea use or strong currents. Children must remain within their own depth, wear an approved PFD and stay under responsible adult supervision.
Compact 3.5-Pound Design
The Guppy weighs 3.5 lb / 1.6 kg with its battery, giving it a substantially smaller land weight than other handheld models in the Recreational Series. Its compact dimensions and molded handles support two-handed operation in supervised pool or calm-water conditions.
Two-Trigger Automatic Stop
Both triggers must be pressed to run the motor. Releasing either trigger stops the propeller. This control arrangement helps prevent the seascooter from continuing to operate after the user releases one hand, but it does not replace adult supervision or the required PFD.
Protected Propeller Area
A protective grille covers the Guppy’s rotor area and helps prevent larger objects from entering the propeller assembly. Users must still keep fingers, long hair, loose clothing and equipment away from the grille and propulsion area.
Up to 30 Minutes of Normal Use
The integrated lithium-ion battery provides up to 30 minutes of normal use or up to 20 minutes of continuous operation. A full recharge takes approximately 2–3 hours using the supplied charger and the Guppy’s integrated charging port.
Designed for Pool and Calm-Water Recreation
The Guppy is intended for operators age 5 or older in a pool or calm water close to shore. Children must remain within their own depth under adult supervision and wear an approved PFD. The Guppy has no published depth rating.

- Connect the charger to the Guppy before connecting it to mains power.
- The LED is red while charging and green when fully charged.
- A full charge takes approximately 180 minutes.
- Disconnect mains power before removing the charging lead.
- Keep the charging port dry, clean and free of debris.
- Recharge after every use and at least once every three months during storage.

- Do not operate or charge the unit with a damaged charging port, cable or charger.
Seals and Buoyancy
The Guppy has no customer-accessible O-ring listed in the package contents. Do not open the sealed unit. The Guppy should float, but water type, current, temperature and other conditions may change its buoyancy and cause it to sink. Never intentionally release or leave it in the water.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated location.
- Keep it away from children, metal objects and ignition sources.
- Do not leave it in direct sunlight or a high-temperature vehicle.

Air Travel with the Battery
The integrated battery is rated at 7.3V and 2.6Ah:
7.3V × 2.6Ah = approximately 18.98Wh
FAA guidance generally prefers lithium-powered devices in carry-on baggage. If accepted in checked baggage, the device must be fully powered off and protected against damage and accidental activation. Airline acceptance of the complete seascooter must be confirmed before travel. The Guppy is not “airline approved.” Review current FAA lithium-device guidance and the operating airline’s policy.
