CoastMaster Standard Compatibility Checklist

Match the exact Humminbird display, generation and software requirements with CoastMaster U.S. Coastal V1 before ordering—or opening—the chart card.

Compatibility snapshot: Humminbird currently lists CoastMaster U.S. Coastal V1 for HELIX G3/G3N and newer, all SOLIX, all APEX and all XPLORE units. HELIX size and generation affect the required basemap version.

The product discussed here is the Standard U.S. coastal chart, 601015-1. Browse the CoastMaster Standard collection, but complete every check below before purchase.

Why the Exact Humminbird Model Matters

A family name such as HELIX or SOLIX is not always enough to confirm a chart card. Humminbird product families include different screen sizes, generations and software histories. Two displays that look similar at the helm may have different CoastMaster compatibility requirements.

Before shopping for a Humminbird CoastMaster chart card, capture the full model identification from the unit label, startup screen, system information page or original documentation. Avoid guessing based on screen size or appearance.

Record these details first

  • Full Humminbird model name and screen size
  • Generation, including G3, G3N, G4 or G4N where applicable
  • Current software and basemap version
  • Available and supported memory-card slot
  • Chart name, edition, region and part number
  • Any One-Boat Network or i-Pilot Link function you expect to use

CoastMaster Standard Display Compatibility Matrix

Use this matrix as a pre-order screening tool. It summarizes the current manufacturer listing for CoastMaster U.S. Coastal V1; it does not replace checking the latest cartography compatibility list for your complete model number.

Display family Current listed compatibility Software / basemap check Action before buying
HELIX 5/7/8 G3/G3N and newer Basemap v2.010 requirement shown Verify size, generation and installed version
HELIX 9–15 G3N and newer Basemap v1.031 requirement shown Confirm networking generation and current basemap
SOLIX All SOLIX units listed Basemap v1.031 requirement shown Check exact unit and installed software
APEX All APEX units listed Keep unit software current Verify full APEX model and chart slot use
XPLORE All XPLORE units listed Keep unit software current Confirm exact model and latest requirements

Important: Compatibility information can change with current products and software. If your display falls near a generation boundary, is a legacy model or cannot show its software version, ask Mariners Warehouse to check it before ordering.

Seven Compatibility Checks Before Checkout

  1. Confirm the chart identity. The Standard chart in this guide is CoastMaster U.S. Coastal V1, part number 601015-1, supplied on an SD card.
  2. Confirm the display family. Determine whether the unit is HELIX, SOLIX, APEX or XPLORE.
  3. Confirm the complete model. Include screen size, generation and network suffix where shown.
  4. Confirm software and basemap. Compare the installed version with the chart requirements; update only through the correct official procedure for your unit.
  5. Confirm the chart slot. Make sure the card can be inserted in the correct supported slot without displacing another card or function your setup requires.
  6. Confirm your expected features. Standard VX tools include custom palettes and views, tides and currents, depth highlights, shallow-water highlight, water-level offset and navigational data.
  7. Keep the package sealed. Do not open the chart card until every compatibility and coverage question is resolved.

Software Is Part of Compatibility

A compatible display family can still need a basemap or software update before the CoastMaster chart works as expected. This is why a compatibility answer should contain three parts: model, generation and version. “I have a HELIX 9” is incomplete; “I have a HELIX 9 G4N with software version X” gives support a useful starting point.

Before any update, follow the official instructions for your exact Humminbird model, use reliable power and protect saved waypoints or settings according to the manufacturer's process. Do not install software intended for a different model simply because its name looks similar.

Compatibility vs Coverage vs Features

These three decisions are connected, but they are not interchangeable:

Compatibility

Can your exact Humminbird model, generation and software read and use the CoastMaster chart card?

Coverage

Does CoastMaster U.S. Coastal V1 include the bays, inlets, routes and fishing waters you need?

Features

Does the Standard feature set provide the views, depth tools and planning data you expect?

A confident purchase requires a “yes” to all three. If you are still deciding, return to the CoastMaster Standard product listing and compare the product identity with the information gathered from your display.

What About Follow Contour?

CoastMaster can support Follow Contour when paired with a compatible Minn Kota i-Pilot Link system, allowing a selected depth contour to guide automatic boat control. This is a system-level feature: chart compatibility by itself does not prove that every network component, connection and software version supports the desired result. Verify the chartplotter, trolling motor, i-Pilot Link capability, networking and software together.

Copy-and-send compatibility request

Use this format when contacting support:

“I am considering Humminbird CoastMaster U.S. Coastal V1, part 601015-1. My display is [full model and generation], and its current software/basemap is [version]. I boat in [specific waters]. Please confirm chart compatibility and coverage before I order and open the card.”

CoastMaster Standard Compatibility FAQs

Is CoastMaster Standard compatible with every HELIX?

No. The current listing begins with HELIX G3/G3N and newer and separates basemap requirements by screen-size groups. Check the exact model and generation.

Does CoastMaster U.S. Coastal V1 work with SOLIX?

All SOLIX units are listed as compatible, with a v1.031 basemap requirement shown. Verify the current requirement and installed version before ordering.

Is CoastMaster compatible with APEX and XPLORE?

The current product page lists all APEX and all XPLORE units. Still record your full model and current software so the complete setup can be verified.

Can I return an opened CoastMaster chart card?

The manufacturer states that opened cartography packages are not eligible for return. Confirm both compatibility and coverage before opening.

What should I do if my Humminbird generation is unknown?

Photograph the unit label and system-information screen, then contact a Mariners Warehouse marine specialist before buying.

Check First. Open the Chart Card Second.

Use the exact model, generation, software version, waters and part number to turn uncertainty into a confident CoastMaster Standard order.
