Do Not Confuse the Drive With the Transom Assembly
The upper and lower sterndrive are outside-drive assemblies. The transom assembly, gimbal components, trim cylinders and hydraulic products are separate shopping paths. Buying a complete sterndrive does not automatically replace a worn gimbal housing, transom assembly or trim system.
If the problem involves steering play, trim movement, bellows, gimbal bearing, corrosion around the transom or mounting hardware, ask a marine technician to identify the failed component before selecting a complete drive.
